Contact the Right Wake Office

Wake County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm live custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull official booking records. Contact the agency that created the record for an authoritative answer.

Official Wake County Contacts

Use the details below to route a question. Confirm current hours, fees, and instructions on the linked official page before visiting or sending a request.

WCSO Records accepts incident-report requests by email, mail, and fax. A mailed request should include a written request and a $2 check or money order, not cash, according to the records page. The Wake County Detention Center is at 3301 Hammond Road, Raleigh. Video visitation is listed Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; appointments are made 24 hours ahead through 919-857-9103 during the stated weekday hours. Visitation information does not confirm custody.

Where to Ask for Each Record

  • A past Wake arrest record or identification photograph: start with the CCBI criminal arrest records page, and ask about the downtown public kiosk reported after the online portal closure.
  • A sheriff incident report: use the WCSO Records Division at the address, phone, email, and fax above.
  • A general county public record: use Wake County’s public-records page and NextRequest.
  • A Raleigh, Cary, or Apex police report: use the municipal records unit. Cary requests may be emailed to recordsinfo@carync.gov; Raleigh Records uses police.records@raleighnc.gov; Apex directs readers through its police department.
  • A hearing, judgment, or expunction: use Wake County courts and the Clerk.
  • State, federal, or immigration custody: use NCDAC, BOP, or ICE, because those systems do not answer the same question as a county roster.

Before You Send a Request

Include the full name, approximate date, arresting agency, county, booking or case number if known, record type, and preferred delivery method. Say whether you want an incident report, arrest record, identification photograph, detention record, or court disposition. Do not ask an office to confirm a conclusion that the record does not establish. An arrest remains an accusation, and a later court result may differ.
